I have Windows 10 and am fairly PC intelligent for 20 years.  I have Win10 installed on it's own M.2 drive and I have X-Plane 11 installed on it's own M.2. There are times when I am running an installer.exe (downloaded to C:) to install an add-on to XP11 on E: and I get the pop up notice pictured below. What gives?! I am the only user so by default the admin with full permissions for everything.

Since XP11's folder is fully portable and can be moved from hard disk to hard disk like any other folder, I moved the entire 84GB folder to the C: and I was able to run the installer.exe.  Why does Win10 do this!?

I'm guessing that the add-on needs access to some files on the x-plane install. so when you try to run it from another drive, it doesn't know where they are. But that's just a guess. Try running it from the x-plane directory.

XP is all in E: and the XP addon installer didn't matter if it was running off WIndows C or in the XP E drive. Once I copied the whole XP folder to C drive it all installed just fine.
