Computer randomly blue screening

Hi, ever since I water cooled, my computer has been blue screening at the most random times... Does anyone know why??

What codes are you getting? Should look like 0x00000000

on the blue screen itself?

Yes, if it's too fast to see it you should get an error report saying 'Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown' when you log back into your user. Look for BCC/BCCode/Bug Check Code in that report, and it should display 2/3/4characters eg. 6B.

 

Report back with a screen shot of the error report if it's easier?

Download WhoCrashed and it should check your files to find out what might be a potential problem

Well, since you're watercooling, what are your temperatures? Try making sure everything is seated properly.

He means that the CPU block needs to be correctly placed onto the CPU and the mounting kit needs to be installed correctly.

as much as i normally do, just a little bit that i spread evenly over the whole CPU

There really is no need to spread it on the new Intel chips. Just put a pea sized amount in the middle of the chip and then continue with fitting your watercooling unit.

should i take the block off and wipe off what I applied and re-do it?

Either way should be fine.  As long as he makes sure not to spread the thermal paste on thick.  I've seen many people apply it using a card.
