Hey guys. Currently I'm deciding what I should do, sell my 2016 Razer Blade Stealth and buy a Dell G3 Series 15 3579, ORbuy a Razer Core X for 300$ and a 1060 GPU. Could somebody please recommend me on what I should do?

Help is always appreciated.

Does the 2016 model have Thunderbolt 3 and accept external GPUs?

You don't have to buy the Razer Core, it's usually overpriced and there's a lot of enclosures on the market now.

Assuming it works you can get this thing for $50, if it not it's got prime return shipping anyways

***Wait, I have no idea what this is for

And then you should be buying an RX 570/580 at current pricing, $165 for a perfectly capable 1080p gaming GPU, also comes with some games

$200 enclosure

1080p gaming...not equal to a GTX 1080 lol

I assume you're doing most of your gaming at 1920x1080p? If so the RX 570 is perfectly fine for that.

Easily over 100fps easily depending your CPU

Your CPU bottlenecks your max fps or refresh rate(60hz or 144hz)

Your GPU bottlenecks your resolution/quality settings

The R5 2600 here is probably faster than your CPU it tops out over 200fps looks like on low, does that laptop have a 2 core 4 thread i7? need the CPU model number. You can compare it to a same generation desktop i3 at similar clock speeds most likely.

high/epic is where the GPU starts to bottleneck, the RX 570 is maybe 5-10% slower than the 50 depending on overclocks and the game, you also lose a bit of fps with an external GPU, which is probably why you don't want to stick something too high end into an enclosure.

Intel Core i7-7500U - 2.7GHz / 3.5GHz (Base/Turbo)

Will my laptop get hot if I use EGPU? If fortnite can run that well with the graphics card you just sent to me, I'll def buy it!

And if the external GPU stuff works out, probably buy everything on amazon in case you need to return it.

USB type C external GPU docks are generic, so long as the laptop accepts an external GPU any of the docks will work, no need to buy the overpriced core

I mean feel free to shop around for your dock, there's a lot of them available, some add USB or other stuff as well
