I plan on using this computer for gaming, VR, and for multi-tasking (playing world of warcraft + surfing the net with a few chrome tabs open + listening to music on youtube + editing some photos or something.)

 

My question is: am I missing out on performance by not choosing the asus xi hero z390 motherboard, and is that a good ram choice for what I plan on doing? I may dabble in some light video editing in the future (making videos for bug reports for video games or maybe making some videos for youtube - who knows?) I feel like I might have shot myself in the foot expecting Amazon to have the new i9 9900k processor in stock; this being the reason I already bought some of those items. Am I really missing out on much? Or is this build good enough?

 

Note: I haven't bought the ram, the cooler or the video card yet. I may wait to purchase the video card at a later time.

getting that other mobo will have little impact. 1% to 2% difference. ram is fine.

So I'm not missing out on a whole lot here? I am also concerned about the ethernet on that mb - does it have 5ghz or is it only 2.4ghz? I plan on using the wifi mostly, but I might also use the ethernet from time to time. I'm one of those people that I like to have the best or close to the best for everything...

I'd be cautious. Asus ROG boards are getting worse and worse over the years.
