Trash Router

Hi Guys, 

 

So, I'm from England. I have Sky Fibre and we have to use their routers. They're 2.4gz and 5gz. 

 

The is issue is that when i'm using my playstation for online services it will disconnect the broadband within 5-10 minutes of playing. 

 

I've contacted them and they give the useless bullshit of it takes a lot of internet usage blah blah, knowing its all crap and gave up speaking to them and told them to have a nice day. 

 

So, i figured i would come to the actual helpful experts. 

 

I have tried to manual assign a channel, desync 2.4 and 5gz. Changed a setting to do with the channels where there are three options. 

 

Any help would be great.

Is this a wifi problem or a network problem. Best way to try is to just run a long ethernet cable across the house and see if you have the same issues. You can easily get your own wifi access point if its a wifi problem, otherwise there is a issue with your broadband conenction.

Thats it though, my pc is fine. 

 

I can play game all day long over wifi and i have zero issues.

I'd definitely try with an ethernet cable.  If you can narrow it down to just being a WiFi problem then the best bet is to just buy a dedicated WiFi Access Point and disable WiFi on the Sky Hub.

Is it a PS4 pro?  The standard one only had a 2.4g radio which probably sucks if you have any wireless neighbors.

 

Wired is the way to go if possible

There is an old PS issue with this from years ago, try dropping the MTU on your router to 1492.
