Gpu displaying but not detected ?!

The321

Soo my gtx 550 ti I was going to use to play minecraft. But I installed it in my system and it outputs image and everything but it doesn't seem to be detected really well. I can't overclock it can't benchmark since it's not detected it just says generic vga adapter. Also when I installed the drivers it failed to install.

Anyone has an idea what the problem might be ?

Are you attempting to place this card in a system that had a different Nvidia architecture and/or AMD/ATI GPU?

If so, you will need to clean those drivers out first.

I would start by running DDU (Display Driver Unistaller) from guru3d.com.

Do it for both AMD and Nvidia.  Then, install the proper drivers.

The drivers usually include an uninstaller of some type, however my prefered method is DDU. I've never had an issue with it leaving remnants of drivers like the included uninstaller *can* do.

https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

Read through the recommended usage on the page linked.
