Microsoft Basic Display Adapter

"Microsoft Basic Display Adapter" is listed above my graphics card in device manager.

When I check device status:

Quote

This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)

The driver trying to start is not the same as the driver for the POSTed display adapter.

This is a new system. I have already used DDU before installing latest Nvidia driver for my card. What can I do to resolve this? Thanks in advance :)

are the drivers from nvidia directly or from evga? and if from evga, is it from the disk or their website?

I had this issue a while back and fixed it with this https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-hardware-winpc/code-31-microsoft-basic-display-adapter-not/84ee2925-f3f1-482b-9da4-f1c5cf991b36

I think the comparability mode thing fixed it for me, if I remember right.

Hmm... When I check "run in compatibility mode" it only gives me the option for Windows 8 (or earlier versions).

Can I just uninstall the driver from Device Manager?

yeah.  Then reboot and it should reinstall automatically.
