Greetings, linustechtip's community.

I'm planning on upgrading to a fairly descent computer desktop very soon, and I would absolutely love to hear the good folk's opinion and insight on this rig https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rfkZr6

Are there any downsides or disadvantages should I expect from this build? Anything ranging from durability, lifespan, stabilization, performance, etc. Not entirely confident as to whether it would meet my ideal expectations or not for a solid pc. Not planning on being as careless as to pick these proposed parts without any suggestions from you guys.

Thanks!

A good air cooler is gonna be much more reliable than that water cooler, with similar results. Try a cryorig H7

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I need?

Without even opening the pcpp list I knew it would be a cooler master cooler based on your comment :D

I'd recommend a larger SSD for your boot drive - at least 250gb.

Consider looking for a case with better airflow. That masterbox lite is pretty restricted.

The cooler master v750 is a good PSU, but you don't need 750w for that system. A good quality 450w or 550w will be fine for an 8700 (non K) + 1070ti.

CPU: Intel i7 6700k  | Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 5 | RAM: 2x16GB 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX | GPU: Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080ti | PSU: Corsair RM750x (2018) | Case: BeQuiet SilentBase 800 | Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports | SSD: Samsung 970 Evo 500GB + Samsung 840 500GB + Crucial MX500 2TB | Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU + Samsung BX2450

Don't cheap out of on your SSD if you are going to spend lots of money on the computer. At least get an Evo. That Green drive is cache-less which will be slower and die faster than a cached SSD like the Evo.

Also, I recommend Corsair for the PSU.

@RightfulEra Your RAM is too fast for that board.

You could do this if you want a Ryzen build: Better SSD, RAM that matches your board, An air cooler because it looks like you won't be overclocking but you can if you want, and a better graphics card for the same price.

Or, if you want to stick to Intel I suggest this:

Better SSD, RAM that matches the motherboard, better graphics card, and overclockability. You may want to go with this one.
