Damn, yeah I won't go up that far, just wanna get it to 4.5 Ghz and see if there's a noticable difference :) So I guess taking it to like 1.29 would be fine?

1.29 is fine. Gotta start being cautious when you get to around 1.35

Hello everyone. I am currently running my i7-4770k with an ASUS z97-p motherboard and Cooler master nepton 240m. My overclock is 4.2 Ghz with 1.175 voltage (I think I could take it down to maybe even 1.165) Well I tried to take it up to 4.5 Ghz, I tried 1.200 & 1.215 but it crashed both times when booting into windows. What im wondering is, will it hurt my PC if I higher the voltage even more to maybe 1.240 or 1.265? I checked the overclock database and it seemed like people had really high voltages, but I just wanna make sure it's "safe" and won't hurt the CPU a lot :)

Its safe if others are doing it.

But it will just crash again.

Of course I won't just instantly up it to 1.265 from 1.175, but looking at the database it seems like most people on the i7 4770k has the volt at around 1.28-1.32

I'd say anything under 1.4 is safe for haswell
