ML240L RGB Not as good as I was thinking

So I have a Ryzen 7 2700x and with auto settings it seems to float between 1.37-1.45V and I cannot seem to get it to boot under 1.4V and I am not overclocking at all.  I was originally using the stock cooler but it wasn't keeping up well hitting 80*C while throttling down to 3.7GHz all core speed,

With an ambient around 28*C, I have been hitting in the 70*C consistently under loads with the ML240L but speeds are hitting 4.0GHz all core Boost.  My Ryzen 5 1600 @ 1.4V 4.0GHz all core OC with a Gammaxx 400 (Sp120 in PP) never broke 60*C.  However, I had an RX 580 and it didn't put out nearly as much heat as my Vega 64 does.  The cooler is set in top exhaust (Cooler Master H500, had an NZXT S340 prior), I replaced the Air Balanced RGB Fans with their Static Pressure RGB Fans, I am going to try and swap those out to test.  HWMonitor has the CPU hitting 144W under load at stock.  Thoughts?

The new H500 with mesh right? The coolermaster AIOs aren't too great in general, hence the low cost.

Cooler Master ML line really are bad by liquid cooling standards. If you asked me before buying it I would have stopped you, or at least warn you about the lacking performance. Their main selling point is their looks.

Well, It came with a tempered glass front too which I did put on.

Things I will try:

Swapping the tempered glass front for the mesh

I will also try hitting 1.45V @ 4.3Ghz all core speed

Swap out the fans to the cooler

Well, I expected a $60 AIO to outperform a $30 single tower.  According to everything I've read, it outperforms dual tower coolers such as the MA620P as well.

Better fans on the AIO will only do so much, most likely you just want a thicker radiator than what that one offers.

If your Vega PCB is reference you could always try one of the EK WB Fuild Gaming kits, just add a 2nd 240mm radiator most likely.

MA620P is hardly the best dual tower. What about the D15 or Cryorig R1 Ultimate?

It's a Sapphire Nitro+ with 3 fans.  Which is dumping tons of heat into the case.  I don't expect best in class performance but better than a $30 single tower.

I forgot to mention, the entire system is RGB.  I am curious if the CM fans are just junk in general.  I might look into LL120's but DAMN are they pricey.  SP120 RGB might work as well.

the R7 2700X is a hot chip at 1.38v or higher, my R5 1600 runs much, much cooler than my R7 (manually OCed to 4Ghz rn but if left on auto it boosts to that anyways, just with more voltage), and it's on a 120mm AIO vs 280mm (both are EVGA CLC). Still not has hot as the 8700K or 8600K (8700K hit 85C on an H7 Universal at stock speeds, my 8600K hits over 80 still when it's on an NH-D15S, hit 93+ on the H7) tho.

CM fans arent that bad, at least not when compared to Corsair. Their SP fans are loud as hell which means they can only be used comforably at low RPM. I dont know about the LL120, but it seems to be SP120 with fancier lights to me.

Okay that makes me feel better :).  I will try the first 2 things.  I am using these: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16835103245 verse the air-balanced variant that it came with.

They now make black fans, I'm pretty sure lower CPU temps are more important than RGB

So, I fixed the issue.  Granted it's 6*C cooler atm, but ran back to back to back Cinebench and it's at 56*C.  I also noticed the front 200mm fans were at 40%.  They are silent even at 100% and replaced the front bezel as well.  Gonna run Aida64 for 1/2 hour.

Intel Burn test topped out around 60*C.  The front fans at full speed and the mesh bezel did wonders.
