i5 9th gen!

hey guys .. what is the difference between i5 8th gen and upcoming i5 9th gen? is it any better? should anyone having an 8th gen upgrade to it? what can be the price difference ?

IPC.....soldered IHS......

 

and no don't upgrade to it....from i5 I would only go to the 9900k

 

also for the umpteenth time (i was just watching GN) don't preorder as we don't know "real" benchmarks

IPC doesn't change at all, it's still Coffee Lake.

Agree.

It will be a small performance increase which is not worth it, especially if you already have 8th Gen. 

It will probably be a small bump in price, depending on where you live and where you buy from.

It will only be expected to have a slightly higher clock speed, slightly higher multiplier and turbo multiplier. It won't be really worth to upgrade from 8th gen to 9th but it will be worth upgrading from the 7th gen.
