Here's the question we all know and love to hear every year. Obviously it's not out yet and I understand that. However, from what we HAVE seen so far, should the cheaper prices of the 8700k and Z370 motherboards warrant not upgradint to the 9700k for perhaps marginal improvments? A lot of deals are around as October 19th approaches I wanna know everybody's opinion.

The 9xxx series is a joke, intel made sure not to release a proper 8700K replacement so that they can keep clearing inventory of it.

The CPUs are 6 cores/6 threads, 8 cores/ 8 threads, or 8 cores/16 threads for like $500+

Ryzen still wrecks it in value, but if you already have that i5 you don't really need to upgrade for just gaming.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?
