My bad. I've gotten so used to every coolers that supports AM4 to also support AM3 that I overlooked the listed sockets.

A similar performing stopgap option between the PR Slim and Ashura albeit not as quiet would be the MA410P: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/Wfvbt6/cooler-master-masterair-ma410p-667-cfm-cpu-cooler-map-t4pn-220pc-r1

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

One problem is my case supports up too 161mm CPU cooler height and that cpu cooler dimentions are 147 x 122 x 160 the last number is the height so it would fit by only 1mm. kinda tight.... Not sure if it will fit well

It will fit. Cases usually have some mm's to spare. My previous case was tight, having 167mm clearance and 167mm cooler, but it still fitted fine.

That should be fine. If the spec lists that it will fit, it should.

What case and ram are you using? Are you aiming to oc or just to get a quieter cooler?

Well I had a athlon 2 core and I had what I believe was the stock cooler. I upgraded awhile ago to a phenom 4 core but didn't change the cooler and the stock athlon cooler doesn't do so well I get about 60° idle and about 70° while gaming. This cpu should be at most 65° (apparently ?) so just looking to lower the temps and maybe do some oc. I'm using a cooler master storm scout 1 and I'm using 8gbs ram in duel channel. You can find my mother board and other specs on my profile page.

Thats the exact cooler is was about to ask you about. It's got RGB too. But one thing, how does the RGB work? Ik it doesn't use the RGB headers on the mobo (mine doesn't have any) so what does it use?

It uses a 4pin rgb header that can be plugged into a RGB capable motherboard or driver device. If you don't have that, you can use the included molex to 2pin power adapter which powers a wired remote for cycling through seven colors, five different brightness levels, and five color patterns. The thumb controller remote is shown at the furthest right below:

Ok thanks. I'll have a look at some other coolers too but this one seems pretty good.

Ok another question. Does the controller have to be connected all the time? Or can I set it to what settings I want then unplug the controller? I kind of don't have any spare molex Connecters and I don't have a modular PSU. I could get a molex splitter if not.

Ok another option is the cm hyper 212x: http://www.coolermaster.com/cooling/cpu-air-cooler/hyper-212x/

There is a turbo version too with 2 fans instead of 1 but it seems to be only available in the US not the UK where I live.

and there is also a cm hyper 212 turbo: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06VWX2QLT/ref=twister_B0771VFZ9M?_encoding=UTF8&th=1 its not the x model but it has 2 fans and red leds.

I'm debating between the RGB fan and the 212x. The 212x has better CFM but doesn't look as nice. It also depends if I have to have the controller constantly plugged in for the RGB or just set it and unplug it.

The Hyper 212x has a better fan than the Turbo but they perform similarly. What kind of prices are you looking at for the 212x? It's not much better than the PR Slim.

The lighting for the MA410P resets to default when the power goes out so disconnecting the remote would probably have the same effect. It's slightly better than the 212x and how much lighting is worth is up to you.

If you're spending a bit more, the Ashura is easily the best cooler mentioned so far.

I think looks is quite a big part of a pc for me. And currently I only have one red led fan at the back and there is also one at the front that you cant even see haha, so my case is pretty dark, I was thinking of getting some RGB light strips soon to pimp it out a bit so the ma410p would go well with them.

If ma410p is slightly better then the 212x I'll get the ma410p, I'll buy a molex splitter so I can power the RGB controller.

I was looking at the 212x on Amazon for about £30 but the ma410p is £35 from scan (about £45 on Amazon for some reason?), so I think I would rather get that if it's slightly better and has RGB.

The ashura seems like a good cooler I just don't like it's looks that much.

One last question. When fitting this CPU cooler do i NEED to take the Mobo out? I'm sure I can just install it with the Mobo still in? Kinda a hassle to take everything out just for a cooler. I can just remove the old cooler change the backplate out and stick the new one on right? I've watch people on yt fitting CPU coolers they always have the Mobo out but then they were building the pc from scratch, not a already build pc. Thanks :)

The motherboard tray has a cutout for the cooler backplate so you should be able to install the cooler without removing the motherboard.
