hi, i was wondering something, the CoolerMaster v8 gts says it's Height is 166.5mm (6.6 in) and the CoolerMaster MasterCase H500 says Clearance - CPU Cooler 167mm / 6.5" but when u go to conversions, 6.6 inches is 167.64mm and 6.5 inches is 165.1mm, so which one should i use as reference? inches or mm?? or better yet, could the v8 gts fit in the h500?? "http://www.coolermaster.com/case/mid-tower/mastercase-h500/ this h500 btw"

Use millimetres. Inches are inaccurate and rarely used when talking about PC stuff (only when talking about optical drives, HDD, SSD and monitors). It fits, but I would recommend looking at some other cooler. That one is overpriced vs performance it provides. Like with most AIOs, you are paying mainly for looks. CMs MasterAir coolers are better in that sense.

so between the v8 gts "yeah im getting it for the looks, i love it" and the MasterAir Maker 8, the 19$ difference is worth it??

The V8 GTS isn't very noisy and generally not worth getting over the many other similar performing coolers available nowadays. The MasterAir Maker 8 performs a bit better but isn't nearly as loud. If these are the only two you like the looks of and you're mainly after aesthetics, go for the Maker 8.

no but like, on ur opinion "not just these 2" performance-looks tell me a good air cooler

Neither are great.

If you're asking for a cooler recommendation, list your specs, where you're shopping / located, budget, and anything else you're looking for in a cooler.

okey not overclocking no water cooling but ima use RGB

asus prime b250m-a

hyperx fury 2x8gb ddr4 2400mhz

EVGA Supernova 550w G3 psu

i5-7500 3,4ghz

Seagate - Barracuda 1TB 3.5" HDD 7200RPM

EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB SSC

windows 10

so if could point me in a direction of a nice look-performance air cpu and a good looking case with great airflow i would appreciate it budget for the cooler is 100$ or less same for the case if it goes a tad bit over that it's still good

Where are you shopping / located?

Is this an existing system or a new one? The 7500 should be fine under the stock cooler and the 2 coolers originally mentioned are overkill for cooling.

im on venezuela but im using amazon US im able to ship the parts here, also it may be enough but im sick of the intel stock cooler rather cut my hands than keep using them, i want a great look-performance cpu air cooler cuz i will swap to an 8th gen mobo + cpu later so it's good to already have a cooler at hand, also what's wrong with overkill? i mean i keep hearing "overkill this overkill that" but how is that a bad thing? not like having "overkill" cooling will decrease performance

Overkill often comes at extra cost that could be used towards more tangible upgrades like getting a ssd when you don't already have one.

Depending on what you're doing, moving to an 8th gen motherboard and cpu probably wouldn't make as much of a difference in performance as getting a better graphics card, a ssd, or more ram.

Some good options for coolers include:

eSports ONE: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076LQ2BJZ/?tag=pcpapi-20

Kotetsu: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JZCHSOK/?tag=pcpapi-20

Windale 6: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076D9QBFJ/?tag=pcpapi-20

Gammaxx GT: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071J2VQQW/?tag=pcpapi-20

As for the case, Focus G Mini: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072JC4SCN/?tag=pcpapi-20

Yes, they're more than enough considering the stock cooler is adequate to begin with.

another question, case makers add to consideration the size of the motherboard regarding max cooler height?

Yes, the cooler clearance accounts for the cpu and motherboard and generally veers on the side of caution so that a cooler with a listed height of 160mm will generally fit in a case with listed 160mm of clearance.

Yes, it would fit but I'd suggest getting just about anything but that cooler unless you like noise.

Probably. 50c is unnecessarily low though.
