having random frame drops in some games

i have been having framerate issues in games like ac4,war thunder etc where the framerate is at a steady 60 fps and then it drops for a 2 seconds to 15-20 fps i don't know what it could be it doesn't do this i all game eg;skyrim

 

system spec 

cpu-amd FX 8120

gpu-amd 6950 

psu-powercool 550w 

ram-corsair vengence 16gb (8x2)

motherboard-asrock 970 extreme4

Very high textured areas? Idk, I haven't heard of such a huge frame drop, maybe drivers?

You need to quote people for a reply, otherwise they don't see that you have said something

it happens at very random times for no reason but if i have vsync on it just stays at 24 fps and never drops

Idk, I'm not a very experienced person in troubleshooting. Try the connections to your monitor, maybe get a new connection or check the monitor itself.

For how long have you been having this problem? The system itself looks to be fine.

What is your graphics card VRAM and at what resolution do you play ?

FX 6300 @ 4.2 Gigahurtz 1.325V ,  ASRock 970 Extreme 4 mobo  ,  Kingston Hyperx Blu 2X4GB @1600Mhz  , Asus GTX 960 DCU ii Black OC  , Hyper 212 Evo , Samsung 850 Evo 250 GB , WD 1 TB caviar Green , Xonar DG sound card , Seasonic M12ii Evo 620W PSU , Corsair 200R case ,4 random case fans.

since i installed the 6950 

Try re-installing it, that's my best guess.

I cant predict what could be causing this...............but if you are playing with high textures enabled then this could be the problem with some texture loading isssue..imo

could it be not having enough power for the card?

Its probably enough power.imo
