Hi, I recently bought an ASUS RX580 ROG STRIX 8GB and i keep getting a black screen while booting windows, changing resolutions, launching or exiting a game, updating radeon display drivers. I've tried literally every troubleshooting method on all forums, youtube, and on AMDs website with no success. I can still hear audio when the screen is black so it hasn't crashed. The GPU nor any other components are faulty as they have been tested by technicians multiple times. Does anyone have a fix? any help would be greatly appreciated, cheers.

EDIT: i think i may have found the issue potentially windows defender ill update the post if this is the cause!

To make it clear, you're getting 0 display output?

If you have SLI motherboard, stick it in the 2nd slot and check.

If you have a spare GPU try it and say if there's a difference at all. GT 210 or something, just to see if it's the GPU or motherboard. I myself use a low end GPU for testing if I can.

I have this on my R9 290x from time to time. It was from the last windows update it started occurring. Rebooting twice seems to help or booting into safe mode then rebooting. Could be windows defender like you said.

That sounds pretty normal, partially.

And that points away from the GPU and towards the Monitor.

Do you have another Connector or can you try another Monitor??
