that's 3:2, i'll get the RAM. Thanks for your insight!

this is how i would choose: does the game take long to load?, is it loading often or does it happen only a few times during many hours of gameplay, if its frequent enough that its pissing you of then get the ssd if not then get the ram

I have a Ryzen 5 1600 and single channel (I know...) 8GB of 3000MHz RAM I have an SSD already, but it's too full for Destiny 2, the game I play the most right now.
My storage looks like this :

SSDs are getting really cheap. Can you stretch to both?

I'm hestitating because a lot of people have been telling me that my single channel ram is hindering my CPU (and it is), because ryzen loves that speed.

From looking at the current drive space on your drives, it seems you are fine with what you have. I would do a ram upgrade and upgrade the SSD later on because it seems that you already have enough storage.

And plus, ryzen benefits from dual channel memory because of its architecture design with the infinity fabric.

also i got on "pimp my pc" or whatever is the part of BitWit's podcast where they tell people what is the best upgrade for them, and they said ram was important, but i wanted the thoughts of more people.

Well, I just expressed my thoughts after all, lol. Ram would be the upgrade I'd suggest since ryzen will benefit from it anyways and you will get more out of a ram upgrade than storage upgrade.

Think of it like this, you already have enough storage anyways, and if you get ram now, you are not only benefiting the PC, you are giving the pc more ram just in case you are going to get into more demanding applications or more demanding games that might chew more ram. Then later on, you might say that you need more storage because my steam library is getting bigger, or I need a backup, or what ever the reason might be. You dont need more of something of what you already have if get what I mean, get what you need more so than what you might want if, again, you know what I mean.

@_CrisisRogue As I said before, get what you really need more so than what you want. Ram is more important, you might start using video editing packages that require more ram or start doing more heavier multitasking that might need more ram, it could be anything that requires more ram. If you get ram, 16GB, your not only setting yourself up for the use of more heavier applications, you are also benefiting your PC. Honestly, if your happy with loading times and don't particular care about how long it takes a game to load, don't get an SSD, because you already have enough storage, and theres no point getting more of what you have. Spending money on loading times isn't as more beneficial than spending money on ram because its what you need more. @cj09beira
