Does ram speed matter?

Hi, I was wondering if ram speed matters? Should I go for 1333 mhz or 1866 mhz ddr3 ecc ram?

yes it does matter. not a lot in gaming so much as encoding and number crunching it matters. are you ddr3 or ddr4? max of ddr3 is around 2400-2600 if you can find the higher speeds you pay high price. I got a 4x8GB kit of corsair and was told by the dev team there that all sticks above 2000Mhz are basically the same. I paid almost 380USD for the 32GB kit but have seen huge improvement over the 1600 kit and the 1866 kits I have in hand

In you case, it largely doesn't matter which speed you go with.

Go for 1866 i you can afford it....i think there would be no much diffrence in money..

For ddr3 it is very small performance gain.
