so my parents are trying to set up their brand new 2018 MacBook Pro, and it fails when they try to set up an Apple ID.

it's a 15" model with the 2.6ghz core i7, 16gb of ram and a 512gb ssd.

it is running 10.13.6, and it's brand new. we unpacked it about half an hour ago.

it's giving us an error in dutch, a rough translation is: there's been a problem creating your Apple ID. your account cannot be created at this moment.

The Dutch AppleID service might be down for maintenance. Assuming your parents are not in America.

Try again in an hour or so.
