New CPU not detected

I bought a ryzen 5 2700x a few weeks ago and it was not detected, and I tried everything, and ended up RMAing it. The replacement just arrived today and I'm having the same issue. I change absolutely nothing about the setup, not even redoing the cables, just swapping in a ryzen 3 1200 and the PC boots up just fine. When the 2600x is in the motherboard also shows DRAM not detected.The chance of getting a DOA CPU twice cannot be that high, so I figure something else must be wrong. I can't figure it out so I'm coming to you guys for help. Feel free to request pictures or more information if you need them.

Specs:

New CPU: ryzen 5 2600x

Old CPU: ryzen 3 1200

GPU: RX 480

RAM: 1 8gb stick of ddr4 

MOBO: MSI B350M Gaming Pro

PSU: EVGA 600W

Did you update the BIOS to one that supports the 2000 series Ryzen chips?

Did you update the BIOS? use your old 1st gen ryzen to update your mobo bios and it should work.

I will go update the bios, I'm going to feel really dumb when that works.
