when i play a game like fortnite everything is running smooth at 60fps+ but when i get into battle it sometimes freezes for like 3 seconds and just stutters and when i jump off the bus and stuff it gets pretty laggy too mostly when im about to use my parachute why does this happen?

cpu: ryzen 6 1600 (amd)

gpu: gtx 1050 (gigabyte)

ram: 8GB 2400 Mhz (corsair)

psu: 600 wattage (evga)

drive: some random hdd

turn down your ingame settings if youre using a preset grpahical setting dont, turn off all of the post prossesing, all the shadows, then  put everything els to low or medium, and viewdistance to epic, i have my 1050ti at these settings and i get over 150fps with no hitches

otherwise you can download MSI afterburner and just unlock the power / temperature sliders so your card can self overclock higher due to the way GPUboost3.0 works, basically if its got more headroom it will overclock its self higher just because you raised the temp target and power limit, its all still within nvidia spec as its just GPU boost 3.0 doing the overclock which is already happenening when you game anyways so why not make it better for free

oh drives can effect game fps?

Absolutely, I've had games be unplayable on certain drives, they just can't keep up with what's happening in game. If you have another drive, I'd try and run in on that and compare the results.
