Linux noob, is there a way to get Steam running on Debian on an Arm64 system?

Yeah, I figured that out after researching a bit more about the command (again, I'm a noob, and I don't know anything).

Is there an Arm64 build of Steam?

nope. as you can see the steam package is i386.

I like just messing around with Linux on my Xiaomi Mi A1, which is obviously Arm based. I can install Debian just fine using Linux Deploy, but Steam won't work. I've done a bit of research and I think it's because it's an Arm64 phone, not an Amd64 or i386 device. Is there a workaround for this? I've tried:

sudo dpkg add-architecture amd64

but that didn't work. Thoughts? Thanks!

the only thing that command does is make software for different architectures available to install. that doesn't mean they will run, because arm is not the same as x86.

Most games on steam aren't ARM, though some games come with their mobile builds in the install folder.  Though generally those are literally mobile games.

There actually is a way to run x86 software on ARM through QEMU, but that's complicated. Requires you to have all the i386 libraries installed, and qemu configured and pointing at the right libs You could easily run simple programs, but I don't really think steam is one of them.
Also the performance would be sh*tty
