I've heard various people (Linus and Logan included) mention emulators for NES, Super NES, Nintendo 64, GameCube, etc. I know that there are various sites where you can play NES games for free.

The majority of them unfortunately seem to require Java.  I refuse to install Java and only use Flash because the majority of video streaming sites still use it.  Both of those plug-ins are notorious for security holes.  Security holes are bad juju, and are an invitation for bots and malware.  Are there sites that feature these games using JavaScript or HTML5?  If not, can someone direct me to a reputable site to download an emulator, so I can download some classic games?  I was thinking of getting my Tecmo Bowl on!

Is there special settings I'm supposed to use?  I got the Emulator Zone emulator, downloaded T.B. from Cool Rom, created a folder for the NES ROMs, and I get a black screen.

EDIT: I'm a moron. I accidentally downloaded the SNES emulator. Doh!
