Someone could help me find a video that Linus did in a while ago, where he says that it was possible to activate part of the gpu that was disabled by the factory and in some cases dramatically increase the performance.

It's a little information, but I really want to watch this video again

I wouldnt take that as an "everyone can do this" type of thing.  Thats more of a  "you can try this, but it may possible brick your hardware"

Those cores/features were disabled for a reason.  yes they may work, or you may have gotten a chip that is otherwise fine but was arbitraily cut down to meet demand.... but you cannot garuntee this is the case.  Still others may have been disabled because of thermal issues, or there is a short circuit somwhere.

Its a cool thing to experiment with.  But i would expect to not have that hardware around much longer afterwards.

There are of course, notable exceptions (AMDs triple core CPUS for one) that are notorious for being able to re-enable these features with next to 0 issues.  but there are the exception, not the rule.

IIRC, he was talking about flashing the BIOS of a higher end card onto a lower one from the same stack. Let me say in advance that this doesn't always work, can brick your hardware, and is NOT covered under any warranty.

If you understand and heed my warning, then I can post more about how to do this.

Fine you want the PSU tier list? Have the PSU tier list: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1116640-psu-tier-list-40-rev-103/
