Location, CAD

System function: gaming, possibly streaming down the road.

I put together a parts list,

intel core i5-8600k 6core 6thread. probably will OC to 4.2-4.3GHz

Nvidia Geforce 1070ti

16GB hyperfuryX 2x8gb (PC4-19200 DDR4 kit)

480SSD UV500 Sata III x2

2TB HDD baracuda SATA III

H370 Aorus Gaming 3 MB

Kraken x62 CPU liquid cooler kit

Fractal Design - Meshify C TG midtower case.

Power supply of 500 watt (dont know what to go with. maybe i need 550?)

going with Razer Gaming mouse and keyboard (will buy outside of budget)

probably an IPS monitor if I can find 144hz, if not. going with a TN. (will buy out side of budget)

first question, will I require anything else? will this setup work (compatibility wise)

second question, I play wow, destiny 2, LoL, SC2, CS:GO. I like high-ultra graphics, do I need to upgrade to a 1080, or should I stick with the 1070ti and go SLI down the road?

looking to spend 2000-2400, 2400 being my Absolute MAX. (CAD$)

I am not an experienced builder, just put together my first system myself, but I was able to get a 1080 ti and an i7-8700K with everything else for the tower for under $1,500. Maybe I didn't account correctly and spent more, but I think I would have noticed. Anyways, just thinking if you shop around maybe you can get a good deal and still be in the budget.

https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/RHybV6 Imo, air cooling intel with a great cooler is better than a much more expensive aio. EDIT: i have that monitor, and i love it.  1070ti fits in your budget better than 1080 if you want equally good quality other parts.

🙂

I'd rather suggest you to go with something like this....

i7 8700 should be good fr gaming ND streaming as well...

Also, 1080ti is still a beast...
