8700k 4.8 OC

I overclocked my 8700k to 4.8 with 1.25 voltage. I just wanted to ask about temps. Max temp I achieved on cores were 87-90 after 10 minutes of AIDA64. Is that bad? I read about so much lower temps on internet. I didn't delid it. Cooler is Dark Rock Pro 4. Is it safe to use for 24/7?

It's safe, you aren't going to be using it like AIDA74 does much.

People who want high OCs (who also tend to show of more often than others) delild their 8700k so they get between 10K and 20K lower temperatures.
You can set the AVX offset to 3 for setting your multiplier lower in case you hit an AVX since that usually causes way higher temps than normal. Idk if AIDA is using AVX though. Somone confirm, pls.I would not daily those temps for according to spec these are safe.
Just keep in mind that 5K increase in temperature typically decreases live expectancy of a component by 50%.

That can be helpful but

1. we don't know which board he has.
2. He is obviously inexperienced so a guide can be good for explaining settings and how to play with them
3. Blindly applying someone elses settings is never a good idea.

That guide suggests 1.28V which is even higher than 1.25V. At his current temps I personally would be very reluctant to push more voltage into my CPU and I would advise others to not recommend obviously inexperienced users to do it.

Did you read the guide?  It has comments and explanations, while the settings are not exactly bios specific.

 

Also, an increase in temp from OC doesn't crush a CPU's lifespan as much as you're stating.  5c increase equates to a 50% lifespan reduction?  Any proof of this?  I've run OC'd chips for years, none have died.  So the standard lifespan must be so long that 50% is still a good while.

I've got ASrock Z370 Extreme4 .So it's not safe to use 24/7 on those temps?

What temps are you getting when you do what you normally do on your PC?  AIDA64 isn't what you're using the PC for

60-66 while gaming, 30-40-45 % usage

I only scanned it to check adjusted settings and values in screenshots.

 

Quoting gamers nexus here. Not stating base life expectancy. I might have some numbers jumbled up but I am pretty sure about it.

The lather was not targeted at you. I didn't even realized your config before you tried to call me out like that. What sense would it have had in that context anyway?
I hope you aren't trying to deny that more experience users, who pay more for their hardware, tend like showing of what they got more often, relative to less experience or less well kitted users, because that is undoubtely true in any aspect of live. Just simply consider the fact that some users consider the price a feature. A feature of exclusivity that is. Some people (but definitely not all) buy iPhones for that very reason - to show of.

That sounds like you could still push it a little bit (more voltage to reach higher clocks)

I mean, im fine with that. I just need to know if my temps are good now for 24/7 usage. I can add that my GPU is hot 45-55 idle, 84 gaming. That could add heat in case. Im waiting for new one to arrive. I didn't choose best case in terms of airflow (Pure Base 600) . Those are 2 things that can increase temp a little.
