So, me and two friends enjoy playing games like TF2, GMod, Starbound, MInecraft, And other Multi Player games together, But we seem to find that beacuse we are all in the same city in Atlantic Canada many game servers are a ping of 200+ .

so I made a plan where we all chip in to make a game server PC and this is what I came up with http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/2vv3J

Any suggestions?

I included that CPU beacuse of the low price with the MOBO as its not doing that hard of a task, I figure If we run multiple servers we will need at least 4gb of RAM, The SSD is there for our TF2 serer as it would be used the most and is only 10gb, We don't need a HDD as I have plenty around and may just boot from USB on a flash drive, The case was cheap so I chose that and The network card was needed as it might eventually run in a virtual machine and I want the fastest connection possible.

When you do servers more cores=better

Also, ReadyCACHE SSD's cant be used as HDD replacements. Hence the Cache.

6Gb? Or 8?

Dice recommends 8GB ram for Battlefield 4.

But with my 4GB ram and a GTX 660 on High/Ultra it uses like 2GB ram at its maximum but yeah, if Dice says so I'd go for 8GB ram, or save some on the ram, get 6GB ram and a i7 + 760m but that's very unlikely to be in a laptop for that price.

What? This is a server. bf4 wasn't even mentioned.

6Gb? Or 8?

4gb will be fine for just a few friends.

Edited build after looking at benchmarks of the CPU, decided as it had ethernet already a WIFI card may be better, SSD removed as friend has extra one

I would recommend this more http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/amd-cpu-ad750kwohjbox

I'm not sure how relevant it is to a server, but I have to recommend against using an Apex PSU. It's bundled with your case, I see, but Apex apparently makes awful power supplies. Reference here.

What would you need wifi for?

It would travel around to different people, one guy has 20mbps up but is away all summer

So another guy would host it that travels back and forth between his parents, at his dads he would use WIFI

So is the system for gaming as well or is it just for the server still?
