from what can I tell it's random lockup

do you get an error code of any kind? do you get a BSOD?

No error code just hangs, with num lock not responding

you mentioned 12gb of ram, how is that configured? what's the size of each dimm and how many dimms do you have?

It came with 4gb, upgraded upon purchase. Also a side note is I didn’t do any software troubleshooting other than sfc/scannow

Update : just ran windows memory diagnostic, it says no problem found

Recently I turned on rapid mode in Samsung magician software would that be a problem?

yes. that caches stuff into ram i believe. that could cause lock ups if your ram isn't totally stable. i'd turn it off.

Anyway to check if the ram is stable? Windows memory diagnostic doesn't seem to mention any problems

Remove 1 stick and see if it keeps running longer?

The lockup is actually random with no pattern at all.

The point is that it could help with one stick removed so they don't hinder each other, if there both different sizes i don't think the Mhz and TImings are the same.

so I would disconnect 1 Ram stich ( the 4gb one) and see if runs better.

The stick themselves could be just fine as the Ram test concluded but that doesn't have to mean they play nice together...

I can't seem to remove the 4gb stick as it appears to be soldered to the motherboard

And cpu z can't pickup the specs of the 4gb ram, only 8 gb ram but however I noticed according to task Manager, the ram MHZ, aren't the same, the 4gb ram that appears to be soldered to the motherboard is running at 1600MHZ while the 8gb ram probably runs at 1333mhz as task manager reports 1333mhz
