nothing is making sense where. If it's ok in a fresh install then the SSD is not the problem. On the other hand those write speeds are garbage, but i don't know for sure but write speeds are not the most important in a boot.

Confusing :S

I would clean the crap in the PC and the startup. Then try to see if with a fresh install those write speeds are the same, as i feel that's a software issue and not the SSD itself the problem

It may be something with SSD drive controller (internal). Or firmware.

Check this: http://www.adata.com/us/ss/software-6/

You may use System Optimization, but mostly you need to Firmware update if available.

ok, thanks I will look into this :)

So you should read previous posts here. Autostart shown and another fresh install will be not more fresh. We should find reason, not force him to constant install Windows again and again.

yes, that's whats had me very confused for a while as after my first round of troubleshooting I was confused when I gave up, reinstalled and it worked. Admittedly on the last "refresh" when it did not work, I chose not to clean the other drive, I didn't fully clean the SSD and I did not install from a flash drive

you are right, but it would be worth seeing if write speeds stay the same after fresh install. However, I would really rather find another solution first

Will look into adata firmware quick while I eat

i get what you're saying but i bet that there's something wrong with his software, virus or some shit, it doesn't mean you are seeing the all picture, there is no other reason for the SSD to be working fine at start and then start to go wrong when he installs whatever. Installing windows is really quick.

But hey just an opinion :)

There is a reason. TRIM for example - it needs working system. System sends TRIM command to the drive and drive do the rest. If something is wrong with hardware (SSD), this may be the reason.

Well, sometimes spinning circle may take longer, especially if you upgrade firmware. Do not restet it, wait few minutes.

it was quite a while and its a bit late now. In hindsight I should have more patience. but no I did not update anything, just used the advanced optimisation. Now sat in safe mode with networking, it was very slow to get into windows but write speeds are still sat above 400mbs

Sorry that didn't help. But you see - once was only 50 MB/s write, then 500 MB/s.

Before you buy new SSD, check this other way maybe. Install system on HDD (shrink main partiton and create small, 80GB partition at the beginning for system; also leave some 2 GB unpratitioned space for boot EFI partitions) and then test it for few days. If everything will be fine, clone it to SSD and check then (but not uninstall your main HDD system). Lot of options.

thanks for the continued effort :) I'll give that a shot and pray it works
