Hi all,

Just joined and thought i would say hi!

I'm Geoff, 33 from Devon (UK) Currently building a new PC for editing photos. i'm using spares from old PC's i have / work machines they no longer want.

At the moment nothing is built but.....Here are my system specs:

Motherboard - MSI B150M Night Elf
Processor - Xeon 1225 v5

Cooler - Cooler Master Hyper 212X
RAM - 2x 4gb 2100mhz DDR4
Graphics Card - XFX Radeon HD 7850 2gb
Power Supply - TBC
Boot Drive - 256 Samsung NVME (connected to pci-e x16 slot via adapter)
Storage - 3x 1tb Seagate Barracuda
WiFi card - Startech PEX867WAC22
Case - Lenovo P310

I would like to get rid of the 1tb drives and change them to 2x 2tb drives. but that means a little more money.

Let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions?

skylake xeons and later only work on X150/170 boards, they won't work on a B150 board.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

Would an I5 7400 fit?

with a BIOS update, yes.

problem is you need a 6th gen CPU to do the BIOS update, so go with a B250 motherboard instead :) it will support it out of the box
