Are you upgrading to 9th gen? I'd leave it alone.

Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.9 Ghz  | Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3 |  PaliT GTX 1050Ti  |  8gb Kingston HyperX Fury @ 2933 Mhz  |  Corsair CX550m  |  1 TB WD Blue HDD

Inside some old case I found lying around.

If it was mine I'd update but as Linus always says, do as I say not as I do.

If it isn't broken then don't try to fix it :P

what do you mean? :)

It's an old saying popular with computer technicians.

If your computer doesn't have any problems then it's best to leave it alone and not mess by updating things as updating things can sometimes cause problems that didn't exist beforehand.

If it's not broken then don't try to fix it.

Yeah, as long as it's working its fine.

Generally speaking, when thinking about updating BIOSes the worry is that a bad flash or failed flash can brick your board so the recommendation is to only update if it fixes a problem you are having, if it contains security fixes or if it fixes major bugs.

In the case of CPU support, if you don't plan to upgrade the risk outweighs the reward and it's not really worth it.

One last thing, if you buy a board and it comes on the initial release BIOS ALWAYS update to a newer one where available so you actually did the right thing without even realising it :)
