VPS - NextCloud <-> Local Server

Use case:

Sometime I want to share a photo library with big JPEGs (15mb  a piece).

These are located on my local Unraid server.

I have nextcloud running on a (virmach) VPS, and I can use the external storage plugin in nextcloud to connect to my unraid server at home, via OpenVPN.

This works perfectly from the local network. But the moment I start openvpn client on the VPS it becomes impossible to connect from an external network, which I guess is logical because of the VPN routing.

Is it possible to configure the VPN in such a way it stays reachable outside my local network?

love to hear from you guys!

On accident i found a the setting on the server side: LAN, internet or both...

It was set to both, so it routed the internet traffic as well as LAN traffic.

Setting it to LAN only worked!
