my friend is trying to buy a new computer because his current one is crap. this is what he selected: https://gyazo.com/f0a83a2d371a03171f6e6328a6364b47

now I'm not the smartest one with picking what parts would be best, but would he be better off getting something like a ryzen 5 1600 rather than that ryzen 5 2400g? I might be reading it wrong but I'm pretty sure it has integrated graphics.

Holy crap a thousand dollars for that?

No way. That's double what that pc is worth.

Let me get off the train and I can give you a much better pc for a lot less. What's his budget?

Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.9 Ghz  | Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3 |  PaliT GTX 1050Ti  |  8gb Kingston HyperX Fury @ 2933 Mhz  |  Corsair CX550m  |  1 TB WD Blue HDD

Inside some old case I found lying around.

My Budget is really anything I'm just not comfortable building a pc, that is the main problem. I have only had my pc now for like 2/3 years it was a pre built that I got as a gift and now its one foot in the grave I want like a full upgrade.

Mate, you're gonna have to give me a budget else I'll recommend a Core i9 7980XE ?

I assume you're comfortable with around $1000?

Is this a gaming only pc?

Will you need peripherals as well?

Yeah around the 1000$ mark would be best for me, maily only playing games on the pc is my goal I can barely run anything right now. Also I wont need peripherals.

This is an amazing AMD build which more than doubles the performance in games to what you had prior for a bit less.

There are a number of decent builders that one can use. A search for "build custom pc" will turn up a number.

Given a 1K budget something like an Intel i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 2600 cpu with 8GB of memory, GTX 1050 Ti gpu, 250GB+ ssd, 1TB hdd, and Windows 10 Home in a nice case should be under US$1,000 before shipping and taxes.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
