Internal SSD into External

Go to solution Solved by homeap5,

It's possible and brand doesn't matter, but quality may. Just don't buy cheapest crap and use only USB3 interface.

You can even buy that enclosure for m.2 drive, so you can have really small and really fast usb pendrive.

Years ago when we replaced my parent's PC Internal HDD, a friend of mine told me to buy an enclosure so we could use it as an External HDD, it worked.

So I was wondering, is it possible to do the same to an Internal 2.5'' SATA III SSD to make it portable?

(If possible) Does the enclosure brand matter or any would do?

Thank you

You can use any sata to USB cable, because SSDs require a lot less power than hard drives (no motor of course). I have a 3 inch USB to SATA cable, nothing fancy, so any USB 3 to SATA is recommended. An enclosure would be nice to protect the drive though, making stansit a lot easier.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B
