2 PCs for updates- simple

Not sure if this is the right category, but, can i use an old laptop directly plugged into my router to install games onto a shared drive to my gaming pc.

Here is what i mean:

I am playing PUBG on my gaming PC, and want to install a new game or download updates.

I go downstairs to my old laptop that cannot run minecraft, and go onto steam.

I already have a shared drive set up in my gaming pc,

can i install/update the game from steam to the shared drive from my laptop to keep my gaming pc running well?

Hope i explained this well

Seems pretty unnecessary. Unless your gaming pc is a dual core then game downloads are not gonna slow down your computer while playing a game. But if multiple computers are using the router at the same time you could get a higher ping in games.

I only see your reply if you @ me.

Nah, it shouldn't. Most newer routers can handle speeds *much* faster than your internet, so transferring stuff between computers on your home network shouldn't slow it at all unless you tried it on like 20 or 30 at the same time.
