I have been saving up for a while and decided it's time to buy an SSD and use it as a boot drive instead of my 6-year-old WD green.

I now have 4 options within my budget, a 480 GB Kingston A400, A 480 GB Team L5 Lite 3D, A 512 GB Gigabyte UD Pro or the tried and true Samsung 860 Evo but only at 250 GBs. I couldn't find much info on the first 3 but of course, the Samsung drive is infamous for its quality.

All 4 options cost about the same. I wouldn't mind a 250 GB drive as I will be using my hard drive as well but getting double the capacity at the same price is at least worth considering.

My Motherboard only has SATA 2 so I won't be surpassing 300 MB/s until a CPU upgrade is due. I'll only be using it as a boot drive and maybe put WoW on it but not much else. These are the only options I have available where I live and Amazon is not an option for many reasons. Thank you for your help in advance.

I'd get the A400, it's not the fastest but in my experience it's still a nice jump from a HDD. Use one in the Toaster, a 120gb, and I like it for what it costs

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

"Here is some advice that might have gotten lost somewhere along the way in your life.

#1. Treat others as you would like to be treated.

#2. It's best to keep your mouth shut; and appear to be stupid, rather than open it and remove all doubt.

#3. There is nothing "wrong" with being wrong. Learning from a mistake can be more valuable than not making one in the first place.
