So the problem is probably the psu? will getting maybe 450W do?

A good 300w would probably cut it, a cheap 450w with some warranty behind it would be optimal.

So I just got a new gtx 1050 ti, and after I did everything, placed it in, installed latest drivers, I noticed my pc is slower. Even moving a window around with my mouse it's a bit laggy. Btw I'm a real newbie when it comes to pc building. I was thinking maybe it was because of my psu which has 250W max and wondering maybe that's why, but I don't wanna buy a new one just to be wrong.

PSU:250W
GPU: GTX 1050 ti (Zotac)
Motherboard: A68HM -E33V2
Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1

 BIOS: BIOS Date: 04/07/16 15:08:41 Ver: V8.30
Processor: AMD A8-7600 Radeon R7, 10 Compute Cores 4C+6G   (4 CPUs), ~3.1GHz
Memory: 8GB RAM
Available OS Memory: 7128MB RAM
Page File: 6679MB used, 7576MB available
DirectX Version: DirectX 11

What brand PSU? Maybe a photo?

That does not sound to adequate as it is most likely ow quality too.

Check if you are set to the correct refresh rate of your monitor.

Forgot where the box is, didn't build the pc. Also how do I check my refresh rate?

Was actually starting to consider buying an 650W psu when I found out how cheap it was at this shop I checked. Then I found it was because it was unrated

220w continuous is likely not cutting it.

~100w for GPU

~75w for CPU

^(all on the 12v rail, which can only supply 108w total)

~30w for MB/misc

Also, its a VERY old design as is evidenced by the way overpowered 5v rail and under-powered 12v rail.

Thanks. I think I'll get that cheap unrated 650W one I saw for a temporary replacement until I save up for a better one

Careful, I have had a number of those EXPLODE in a shower of sparks.  One took most of the other parts with it.

Could be 5m, could be 6 months.  Do you feel lucky?

only need a month or two to save for a good 80+ rating one that I found. If their lifespan really is that long.....could depend on my consumption too I guess
