I am looking to build a system with a ryzen 3 2200g what graphics card will bottleneck

TheGruffaloKing

I am looking at a 2200g and would eventually like to get some dedicated graphics, what card will bottleneck due to the cpu? would a 1060 6gb be fine, a 1070, 1080?

At 1080P, I'd recommend a GTX 1060, at the very most a GTX 1070.

I would give the RX 580 as your choice for 1080p, it wouldn't do much of a bottleneck to the 2200G

I've build many systems this year for 1080p gaming, and most of the time I've build those systems with a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6g (3g is fine too, but I tend to pick the 6gb)

PC Specs: Intel Core i7-8700k - Asus ROG Z370 MAXIMUS X HERO - 2x8gb Kingston Predator DDR4 3200MHz - MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti gaming X Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 - Samsung 850 PRO 256gb - Samsung 850 EVO 500gb - Seagate Barracuda 2tb - Fractal Design Meshify C - Asus PCE-AC56 - Be Quiet! Straight Power 10 CM 700W.

Peripherals: Corsair K70 LUX - Steelseries Rival 310 - Dell S2417DG - Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro - Audioengine D1.

1070 is pushing it, most games won't do well with the mere ryzen 3. Technically you'd see better performance sometimes, but best investment is gonna be 1060/580 and below

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Yeah, I just meant at the very most, since even with a Ryzen 3, some games benefit from a 1070 over a 1060/580. But yeah, 99% of the time, I'd recommend going with either the GTX 1060 or RX 580.

580 8gb or 4gb?

For this build, it shouldn't be that big a deal, but why not go for gold and grab the 8gb

Yeah, the 8GB version goes for about the same price, even in some cases coming in slightly cheaper, than the 4GB version.

ok thanks! also would a used be fine?

If the seller has a good reputation, they're honest about the condition, and you get a good deal, then yes, going used is fine.

Oh yeah, more than a year left for the 580

i meant ram lol

For gaming? Definitely. But for anything that requires more memory than a game, you'll obviously want to upgrade to 16GB.

If i were you I would just pick a card based on second hand pricing.

If a RX 580 8GB can be found for a similar price as the GTX 1060 6g, take the 1060.

If the 580 is like 30-40 dollars cheaper, take the 580.

Those 2 cards perform pretty similar, so just try to get a deal on 1 of those cards. Don't pin yourself down on 1 of them ^^

They'll perform about on par with a 1060 and 580, at the cost of some power efficiency, and total VRAM, among a few other things. However, for your use case, if you can pick them up at even better deal used, then go ahead.

Where I live the 1060 6g is around 200 euros and the 580 is 250-300 euros. So I would take the 1060 6gb for sure.

I wouldn't take a 970, in my opinion the 970 performs worse than a 1060. A 980 could be a seriously good option, cuz those things can be found around 200 euros too.

ok, so all 4 are good deals if i can find them, like sub 200$ usd?

For under $200? Yeah, that would be a good deal, since that would put them around the prices of the GTX 1050, 1050 TI, RX 560, and RX 570, depending on if it's closer to $200 or $100, respectively.

another thing, where i live is really rural, would getting someone in a populated place to buy me one then ship it to me be a thing?

I would rate them this way (by performance):

1- 980

2- 1060 6g

3- RX 580

4- 970

But it mostly depends on the price you get them. In my country a 980 seems to be just as expensive as a 1060/RX 580, so I would definitely get a 980.

That would be awfully generous of them, but its not illegal, haha.
