Hello Everyone,

I am currently designing my first build and before I start buying parts iI would like to know if what I have will work.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/J3qsvn

When you go to the link there will be 5 SSD's, Here is why (Incase it matters)

SSD1: 250GB - Primary Drive

SSD2: 500GB - Personal Storage

SSD3: 500GB - Business Storage (I help my Father with his side job)

SSD4: 500GB - Non-Profit Storage (My family is part of fish keeping club *LAME I KNOW LOL*)

SSD5: 1TB - Overflow Storage

Computer Uses...

1: Normal Day-2-Day Use

2: Running Virtual Machines (I like to F*** with fake tech support at night when i can't sleep)

3: OBS for screen recording

4: Creating digital signage

5: Visual Studio (Programming Software)

6: Eventually switch over to IP cameras and record using this machine onto a 8TB WD Purple Drive (Max 16 Cameras)

Instead of a ton of 500GB SSD's, why not get a bigger SSD and partition it?

Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.9 Ghz  | Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3 |  PaliT GTX 1050Ti  |  8gb Kingston HyperX Fury @ 2933 Mhz  |  Corsair CX550m  |  1 TB WD Blue HDD

Inside some old case I found lying around.

That's a boat load of SSDs, gosh. As a unit, the build is solid, except that 850W PSU, you can go as low as 550W for the PSU if you want, unless you're thinking of upgrading your graphics card in the future or doing something with that 850W?

You can step down the PSU to save $20-30, and you can get a couple 1TB SSDs are partition them, or even just makes a password locked folder for your stuff. Unless you want to be able to take them out and transport them separately. You can also save probably $100+ by switching out to cheaper RAM. a basic 16x2 kit should be like $275, with RGB adding maybe $50-75. Unless that's what you really want

Side note on the monitors - if you're not gaming, you can probably save $20-30 per monitor by switching down to 60Hz. There's almost $100 right there.

U can even swap those Samsung drives with cheaper adata drives, granted u won't get similar speeds....

Added an R7 2700 (2700X is another $30 if desired), changed RAM to save over $100, switched the PSU out, switched out the monitors, switched GPU brand (which is currently offered with free games on Newegg), switched two 500GB SSDs for one 1TB, and more money can be saved by going with a cheaper case, another change in SSD configuration, etc

Thank you everyone for your input I'm currently at work and posted this on my break.  I just got a few minutes to check this and was surprised from all the responses this early in the morning. When i get off and get home i'll look through the suggestions to since i just quickly looked over it.

The 2 comments that popped out to me tho were to get bigger SSD's and to partition them & cheaper case.

1) Bigger SSD's (YES) I don't know why I didn't consider this since I currently do it with my 2TB external HDD

      - 250GB Primary

      - 1TB (~500GB Personal & ~500GB Business)

      - 1TB (~500GB Non-Profit & ~500GB Overflow Storage)

2) My heart is set on that case, so thats not changing lol plus I think my girl already ordered it for my birthday

Thank you all again for your input, I am open to more suggestions

Ok so I went through all the suggestions and I think I did pretty good making some changes.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/KWGLbX

SEOZ - Suggested I get a smaller PSU to save some money. I now have a 620W on the list.  I would of gone smaller but this one made more sense Price Per Watt, plus i can still upgrade parts in the future if I want.

bleedblue - Suggested I get bigger drives and partition them.  I now have 500GB SSD as my primary, 3TB WD Blue (partition to ~750GB Personal Files, ~750GB Business Files, ~750GB Non-Profit Files, ~750GB Extra Space)

Cereal5 - Also suggested getting a cheaper PSU, getting cheaper RAM & also different monitors.  I went through and found some cheaper RAM only downside is it's red, which who knows I may like how the red and blue look together. I also went and found some 60Hz monitors I like the monitors that he suggested but since I want to mount them, they have to have VERSA Mounting Holes.

GoldenLag - Suggested the ASRock - AB350 Pro4 ATX motherboard, I was looking at this motherboard before and I liked it but the I was iffy about the price, I did look around and saw great reviews tho.

SHROUD - Suggested going with the R7 2700 CPU, I didn't choose that one but I did change my CPU choice to a R7 1700

I will say my only concern is the graphics card I choose, all the videos I've seen about building computers (Linus Tech Tips, Jays2cents, Bitwit) they all use gaming cards.  Im just worried that I won't be able to view the bios or get things setup because the motherboard won't pass an image to the card I've chosen (if that makes sense) the motherboard has display ports on it but from what i understand those ports are useless unless you have a ryzen cpu that has G at the end (example: R7 1700G) doesn't exist i know just an example.

Once again the computer usage is as follows

Computer Uses...

1: Normal Day-2-Day Use

2: Running Virtual Machines (I like to F*** with fake tech support at night when i can't sleep)

3: OBS for screen recording

4: Creating digital signage

5: Visual Studio (Programming Software)

6: Eventually switch over to IP cameras and record using this machine onto a 8TB WD Purple Drive (Max 16 Cameras)

There's no point with going with so many ssds. U can simply purchase two 1 tb drives ND partition them. This will save u a lot of money.

There's no point with going with so many ssds. U can simply purchase two 1 tb drives ND partition them. This will save u a lot of money.

I already changed my storage around, you quoted my post that has the revised part list, if you go to the link you will see that i only have 1 ssd as my primary and 2 HDD.  I took a good bit of the suggestions and reworked my list.
