im a programming student who enjoys casual games in his free time and im currently in need of help of finding a laptop.

my budget is around 1200usd.

Specs:

-i5/i7 gen 8

-14/15 inch

-1920x1080

-2 in 1 is an option

-preferably an ultrabook

 

a few options ive seen so far are the zenbook, yoga or thinkpad.

im more then open for recommendations :)

Where are you from? Preferred max weight and minimum battery life?

For programming you want a good keyboard and Thinkpads have the best. Some models have Ryzen CPUs with Vega graphics or dedicated Nvidia GPUs, that should be enough for some games. The lighter series (Carbon X1 / T480s) are out of your budget, so either get an older model used or a lower end Thinkpad.
