would i be possible to be a really bad person and buy a spyder5 from Amazon, use it, and then return it? would amazon accept those returns? I have a really old laptop and i wanted to calibrate it as everything looks s*** on this right now.

Honestly I see it as being theft, minor theft, but theft none the less, because you are purchasing a product, with the intention of devaluing it and returning it, those returns can never be sold as a "new product" they have to be sold as a refurbished one or B stock, on top of that you are eating up the companies money by making it so that someone has to repackage it and relabel it, while expecting not to pay a cent (besides the possibility of shipping it back to them). I think this video that I have stumbled upon recently explains it the best.

I think you might have to pay a small penalty if it's not defective; read up about it first. I know with some PC parts at least you only get 80-85% refunded if it's not broken.

Make sure to quote me or tag me when responding to me, or I might not know you replied! Examples:

Do this:

And make sure you do it by hitting the quote button at the bottom left of my post, and not the one inside the editor!

Or this:

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

Just keep in mind, Amazon;s return policy only applies to items directly from AZ themselves. If you order an item that's fulfilled by a third-party seller, you are subject to that seller's return policy. Read everything or you may find that you are indeed the proud, permanent owner of a Spyder5.

Thanks! I have tried searching for such services online, but all I can find is services for midsize to large companies, such as this one. I think that the Best Buy idea is worth a shot, that does sound like a service that would be up their alley, but unfortunately  I have never had the money for such things (I mean I have a 8 year old 1600x900 monitor from Ebay that I got earlier this year for $15), so I don't have much knowledge on that as I am not currently a media creator, and most media creators I know figure that they are going to have to calibrate their monitors multiple times as they age, so they just foot the bill for the calibrators, so I have little reference to go off of for this matter, and I apologize for that. So yeah I am a 1600x900 monitor peasant that goes around spitting out my values, but has no real merit or solution for your issue, lol. xD

Windows has a built in software calibration solution. If that doesn't cut it, then a more ethical way would be to buy the spider of amazon and once you have used it, sell it on eBay for a little less than what you paid for it.
