Changing to 1080

Do I need to change anything about this build if I switch the 1070 for a 1080?

Should be good. You better be overclocking, though, or run 1440p/4K since it's not a great match for 1080p.

look around for a 1070 ti, they could perform overclocked better than a stock 1080. and maybe a better psu if you want it to keep quiet and don't have to upgrade it in the future

not looking to overclock but i will upgrade to a 1440p or a 4k in the next 6 months or so if i can find a deacently priced one

They won't come down. Nvidia will continue to sell Pascal until the new lineup is complete.

Bottleneck heaven. The 1080 might perform worse in practice than the 1070, worst case scenario. I'd leave it.

ok i will stick to buying the 1070 then. 

 

and i know they might not come down but i have found a pretty good deal for a 1070 and thought it might come down a little more after turing dropped so i will wait

Yeah, like I said, prices won't come down. The cards will simply sell out and disappear.
