Hi!

I have a new old laptop at home which supports a MXM 3.0 card. (Currently a Quadro FX 2800M which i think is a 3.0b card.)
Is there any good place to buy mxm cards or is my best bet someone selling on ebay?

Also, what is the best MXM card i can put in this laptop? 200W power chord if that matters..
Specs:
Intel Core i7-Q840
Quadro FX 2800M
12GB Ram (Not sure what brand etc)

Mxm cards are a pretty funky standard. Also, eBay is really the only place to get one, and expect to pay double for the Mobile version you would for the desktop. Wattage should be no problem, because a quadro that old will be pretty inefficient, so you'll likely be improving graphics performance as well as decreasing battery consumption all at once. Might be hard to find one that will make contact with the cooling setup though.

Returns accepted, this should be worth the experiment.

Userbenchmark says the 770m absolutely demolishes that old quadro, so it at least has to be a little better.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Yeah, never heard of it before getting this laptop at hand.. Checked around for quite some time but most of them doesn't ship to Sweden or are quite ridiculously pricey.. Tho got to give cred to the Quadro card since its so old. Still keeping League of Legends at around 200fps medium-low details and Fortnite 720p on 30ish fps.. ;)

Also, is there different dimentions on the cards or does all 3.0b cards fit on the laptop? (If we count out the heat issues obv)

Supposedly as a standard, they should be compatible, and ideally as the replacement to PCIe they'd be just as flexible, but I'd be lying if I said I knew for sure.
