Engineering student looking for laptop

Go to solution Solved by genexis_x,

Y530 then

Hello. I'm looking for a 15 inch laptop for university work. It will be mostly used for Word, Excel, PowePoint, AutoCAD, Solidworks and some light gaming (not very demanding games). I don't mind bringing the laptop charger with me so the battery doesn't need to last all day. I think for CAD work a quad core i5 7th gen would be fine and for gaming a 1050 2 GB or something less powerful. I have a 500 GB 2.5 inch sata SSD that I can put in the laptop instead of the HDD it has. Since I will be putting my own SSD in the laptop it can be without an installed version of Windows so save some money. The price point that I'm looking at is 500-800 Euros. If it is a great deal or a really great laptop I can maybe go for a maximum of 900 Euros. I am looking to buy the laptop from Amazon UK or Amazon DE so links from those websites would be great.

EDIT. Summary of the laptop I'm looking for:

-7th/8th gen i5

-1050 2 GB

-No SSD because I have a 500 GB SSD that I can use

-No OS

-15 inch

-500-800 EUR budget but I'm more leaning towards 700 EUR

-Usage: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, Solidworks and some light gaming

-Don't mind bringing the laptop charger with me

-Don't care about weight

Lithuania. The local shops here have similar stock as to the shops in other European countries.

Max weight I would say doesn't really matter. I've checked out something like the Asus GL503GE and it seems fine. Don't need an ultralight.

I was going to suggest HP Omen dc but it seems like it's out of stock. Dell G3 15, HP Pavilion Gaming and Acer Nitro 5 have good value but have cooling issue, if you're willing to do repaste+undervolt then it's fine. MSI GL63 has excellent cooling but has questionable QC+QA.

Any other laptops with 8300H/8750H CPU you found that are within your budget?

Maybe he should just find out how long it will take for the Omen to come into stock and then look at other models.

I was actually thinking of getting a laptop with 7300HQ/7700HQ. I did find a Lenovo Y530 i5-8300H, 1050 4 GB, 128 GB NVMe SSD, 1 TB 5400 rpm HDD for 800 euros at my local shop.
