I was thinking if I should update my bios because I think its really old version. I have never updated any bios and this is my first built pc and im really scared that I will mess something up and then my pc wont work again. So I would like to get some help with it.

Here is my CPU and Motherboard:

AMD Ryzen 5 1600

MSI B350M Gaming Pro

BIOS Version 2.60 and date 04/28/2017

So do I need to update my bios? If you guys could help me with it, that would be great.

With Ryzen, updating your BIOS is actually a pretty good idea in most cases and in some cases actually lets you use newer CPUs.

For your motherboard:

Download the 7A39v2H version from MSI's website

Open the .zip, copy the "E7A39AMS.2H0" file to a blank, FAT32 formatted USB

WARNING: From now on, do NOT turn off your computer, you also can NOT remove your USB drive! If it is a laptop, plug it to an outlet!

Reboot and get into BIOS

Go to the M-Flash section

Go to "Select one file to update BIOS", name may be similar

Select the USB drive with your BIOS

Select the E7A39AMS.2H0 file

Wait 5 seconds for it to restart, and then wait for it to update the BIOS. At this point, do NOT remove your USB or turn off your computer or do ANYTHING, unless the BIOS updater tells you to.

When finally in the boot screen, go into the BIOS and check if your BIOS has been successfully updated. If so, yay!

If this process fails in any shape or form, your BIOS is most likely corrupt. If the BIOS is accessible, try to reflash it. Otherwise, you need to buy a new mobo (or RMA/whatever).

Hope this helps! If this is too confusing, use MSI's official guide.
