Planetronics RIG microphone can't be seen anymore

Quantization
Go to solution Solved by Quantization,

Turned out to be to do with the USB 3.0 vs 2.0. I just upgraded my motherboard so the ports changed.

PC can't see plantronics RIG microphone anymore, it used to be able to, then I upgraded it, now it can't.

You can see what I did to upgrade my PC here: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/96546-neverending-bios-and-it-isnt-my-hdd/page-2

I can hear it fine, but it no longer runs off of just the USB that I plug in, it needs the single chord that usually I leave unplugged, and the mic is unable to be detected. There is nothing wrong with the headset as I have tested it on another PC and it is fairly new. I used it for a few months before this happened.

Help?

Try putting it in front of your webcam, the computer might see it then.

Jokes aside, have you installed the driver for the headset ? If so, uninstal it and reinstal.
