Hey guys, I am new to the PC master race and would like some help with knowing what would need to be upgraded, I know my PC is not that old but I was wondering if I need to upgrade my mother board in order to get a new processor maybe because the chip set is not compatible (will have full list of PC parts below), help on this subject is greatly appreciated.

ASUS Z170-AR LGA1151 Socket

Intel i5 6600K

16GB Ram (dont remember which model)

GTX1070 Strix

I think I have a 750W power supply

Corsair water cooling

Thanks guys hope you can help me

If you mean "new processor" you mean 8th or 9th gen intel core CPU's then yes, you'll need a new B360 or Z370 motherboard.

Thing is, why do you need to upgrade though? Your system's perfectly fine.

Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.9 Ghz  | Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3 |  PaliT GTX 1050Ti  |  8gb Kingston HyperX Fury @ 2933 Mhz  |  Corsair CX550m  |  1 TB WD Blue HDD

Inside some old case I found lying around.

Thats what I thought, would my cooler fit on that motherboard or would i have to get a new cooler?

They're all socket 1151, should fit.

You may upgrade your PC if you want, but it's not needed anyway. And yes, you'll be needing a new motherboard if you will upgrade.
