Hi, thanks for taking the time to look at this. I posted this on Reddit already, but I though I'd give LTT a try as well.

I'm mainly going to be using this build for Video Editing (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom) and maybe some light gaming (CSGO low settings). Even though I have an i7-8700K, I don't plan on overclocking it anytime soon  (I mainly have it just for the higher base clockspeed). The 2 HDs are going to be in RAID 1. I'm in Hong Kong, so the prices here may be different.

Here's a PCPP list of the components I've found so far:

Please give me some feedback about the parts I've chosen, since I'm quite new to this PCMR stuff.

I only have these 2 questions:

https://i.imgur.com/KMiaQRw.jpg Here's a picture of the area that I'm thinking of putting the PC into once I actually build it. I've checked the dimensions of the H500 and they fit inside that area, with tons of room to spare (idk, like 5cm on the sides?). Will I have any temperature concerns? If I put my PC into there, it'll be surrounded completely 3 sides, with the 4 side being a small gap and then another wall.

- I've also heard that the NZXT H500 case that I've chosen (although it looks good) doesn't have the best cooling/airflow compared to other cases (such as the Fractal Design Meshify-C). Will the fans that I have in the list be enough to keep the temperatures low? If not, what could I do to keep temperatures low?

Thanks.

You probably would want a higher resolution monitor over a high refresh rate monitor.

Also for the fans for the H500i not recommended. Try finding static pressure fans oppose to air flow fans.

Apart from that, the build looks solid.

I've never actually tried using a 144Hz monitor. I did a lot of research into 60Hz vs 144Hz, and nearly everyone recommended a 144Hz monitor. Are the differences between 60Hz and 144Hz only visible in-game (Can you see the differences in normal internet browsing)? If so, then I'll take your advice and look at some 4K monitors.

Thanks for the static pressure fans suggestion, I'll certainly look into it. Would you happen to have any suggestions for fans for the H500?

I'd suggest getting the i7-8700. If you examine its clocks and performance numbers you'll find that it is only 2% - 3% off an i7-8700K at stock. Use an H370 motherboard.

Consider getting a 2x16GB memory kit. This will leave two free memory slots available for a no replacement upgrade should it ever be necessary.

If the hdd are going in an array I'd suggest getting drives designed for that use. Western Digital WD10EFRX or Seagate ST1000VN002.

The Corsair RMx and Seasonic Focus Plus Gold are as good or better than the G3 and quieter.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
