Okay so, i'm working on a project with a Pico Psu, 160 Watt. I didn't pay attention to realizing that i need a power brick too, and i'd like to get this thing working before i order a brick. I noticed the connector for the DC connector uses the same connection as a board's CPU connector, do you guys think it'll be safe for me to hook up the CPU connector on a 250w PSU and jump it or might that burn the Pico PSU out?

I've used a few Picos in projects.  You can't supply power through the CPU connector because it's not a pass through from the main 12v input and you'll fry it.  The 12v output of the Picio is regulated so you'd be trying to input power into a output only.

No I don't mean the cpu connector on the pico power supply, i mean through the connector it uses with the detachable 12V psu.

You can see there's a mid cable connector from the DC connector to the main board. i'm wondering if i can put the CPU connector from a regular PSU into that mid connector instead of the DC connector, as it would fit snugly, and then jump the PSU to supply the pico psu with power. Or if there's some way for me to wire the regular psu to supply power to the pico psu (i do have a cable jack that fits into the DC connector on the pico psu).

Picos are really really bad in most cases, only a few are somewhat okish and nobody really tests them for various reasons...

They are just too small to be good...

And that's also the reason why reputable manufacturers (like Antec) use Open Frame PSUs instead...

yeah but my issue is that it's going into a really tight space, i'm shoving a computer inside an NES and a pico PSU is literally my only option. The system only draws 95w so a 160w Pico PSU is fine in this application.
