Hi I am having the exact same issue. After a reinstall, I went to the Asus website and downloaded all the drivers and installed them. So far, everything is back working, execpt the touchpad.

The driver tries to install but then give an error saying that there was a problem with this Windows Installer package... Here is the event in the event viewer:

Product: ASUS PTP Driver -- Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.  Action _D7D1651C_4093_4721_A8DC_FDD74D447F3A, location: C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUSTek COMPUTER INC\ASUS PTP Driver\install\x86\BatchCaller.exe, command: /Install "C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUSTek COMPUTER INC\ASUS PTP Driver\\"

Ideas anyone? I also have a forum posting on the Asus site about this as well: https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?104834-GU501-Fresh-Install
